Manchester United will target Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to work with the Serbian again as he goes in search of some added steal for his midfield at Old Trafford.
Matic has played a key role in Chelsea securing another Premier League title during Antonio Conte’s first season in charge, but his place in the starting XI has not always been confirmed.
Due to the form of Cesc Fabregas and the brilliance of N’Golo Kante, Conte has had quite the selection headache in midfield this season.
Mourinho re-signed Matic from Benfica in the January transfer window of his first season back with Chelsea.
The Serbian would go on to play a key role in Mourinho’s final title triumph with the Blues in the 2014-15 season.
United had been linked with a move for Tottenham’s Eric Dier, but Matic is seen as the cheaper alternative.
