Manchester United must pay £96m for Mauro Icardi

Clubs wanting to sign Mauro Icardi must fork out a world-record fee of £96m for the Argentinian, according to Corriere della Sera (h/t ItalkSPORT).

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Napoli are all hoping to sign the striker who scored 24 goals for Inter Milan in Serie A last campaign but may be put off by the asking price.

Inter Milan’s Chinese owners have named their price for their club captain as they look to keep the striker after Inter finished seventh in a disappointing season in Serie A.

Jose Mourinho is rumoured to be on the search for a big-name striker after talks with Atletico Madrid broke down about the possible signing of Antoine Greizmann, with the French forward pledging his loyalties to the La Liga side on social media last week.

Icardi is a wanted man across Europe but with Inter Milan wanting a world-record fee, will Manchester United splash the cash on Icardi?
