Worlds best 50 beaches from Norfolk to Sri Lanka

It looks like it’s time to book a vacation – a new list of the 50 best beaches in the world has been revealed based on the input from more than 600 travel journalists, editors, bloggers, and agencies – and they all look amazing.

If relaxing on a beach with powder-soft sand and turquoise water sounds like bliss to you, then you’ll find plenty of options for your next vacation. But don’t fret if the thought of laying on a secluded tropical beach absolutely bores you – the list also includes plenty of options for those who prefer their beaches with a side of adventure.

Spanning multiple countries and continents, the list of top 50 beaches from FlightNetworkhas a varied mix of “off-the-beaten-path slices of paradise from every hidden corner of our planet.”

Six of the seven continents have winning beaches on the list – Antarctica didn’t make the cut, but we have a good guess why. North America tops the list with 17 beaches, followed by Oceania with 11, Asia and Africa with seven each, Europe with six, and South America with two.

If you’re overwhelmed by the options, you can narrow down your next vacation destination by country – The United States has the greatest number of beaches on the list, with six. However, only one of these beaches is in the mainland – three are in Hawaii, one is in Puerto Rico, and another is in the United States Virgin Islands.

Australia comes in second place for the highest number of beaches on the list with four winners.

The United Kingdom comes in third with three winners, with Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos winning the top spot as the best beach in the world. And with 319 sunny days a year and “the most iconic and awe-inspiring stretch of sand in the world,” it is no wonder Grace Bay Beach has won the honour.
