Danny Baker back on BBC after being sacked for ‘racist’ tweet about Meghan Markle’s baby

Danny Baker makes his BBC comeback tomorrow night (May 24) , two weeks after a “racist” tweet got him fired.

Baker, 61, hosts People’s History of Pop on BBC4, a repeat first shown in 2016.

Baker looks at music from 1966 to 1976, “the years of his youth”, from The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper to the birth of the “large-scale music festival”.

He was sacked by Radio 5 Live on May 9 after tweeting a photo of a couple with a chimp in a suit, captioned: “ Royal baby leaves hospital.”

Strictly judge Oti Mabuse dubbed the tweet “absolutely disgusting”.
