The future of Douglas Costa has been written on the wall for some time.
Bayern Munich are said to be willing to sell him for just €40m this summer amid concerns from the player that he doesn’t play regularly enough, and clubs have been queuing for his signature.
PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with the Brazilian attacker in recent weeks, but the Daily Mail note that Serie A champions Juventus are closing in on completing a deal to sign him.
Club officials from the Italian side are expected to meet with Bayern in the near future to finalise a deal with the transfer fee standing at £26m, well below the above asking price set out by German source Bild.
Since making a £25.5m move to the club from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2015, Costa has scored 14 goals and provided 27 assists in 77 games for the Bundesliga club. However, having made just 14 Bundesliga starts last season, the 26-year-old is said to be unhappy with his bit-part role.
It seems as if Juventus will pip PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United to Costa’s signature.
