PRINCESS DIANA’s last four minutes before the tragic car crash that killed her have remained a mystery for 22 years, with the sole survivor unable to recollect what happened just seconds before the accident.
The news of Princess Diana’s death on August 31, 1997 shook the world as the People’s Princess died aged 36 after the car she was riding in crashed in Paris. On that night, the late Princess was in the rear seat of a Mercedes S280 limo with her lover Dodi Al-Fayed, driver Henri Paul and Trevor Rees-Jones, one member of Al-Fayed’s security team, on the front seats.
Mr Rees-Jones, who now goes by the name Trevor Rees, suffered tremendous injuries, but was the only person to survive the crash.
Princess Diana, Mr Al-Fayed and Mr Paul died despite the paramedics’ efforts to save them.
Mr Rees has been unable to recollect what happened on that tragic night between the moment he entered the car and the crash.
This has attracted towards him criticism and even made him the protagonist of conspiracy theories.
Trevor Rees, the only survivor of the car crash
In an interview in 2000, he said: “I’m the only person who can tell people for real, and I can’t remember.
“It will be so easy if I do remember.
“I can tell people and all this c**p will finish.”
The “c**p” Mr Rees refers to is conspiracy theories about the car crash.
