Best and worst airlines for 2019 – and British Airways made the bottom three

Ryanair has been named the world’s worst short-haul airline by Which? Travel.

The budget carrier received low ratings across factors such as its boarding, customer service and cabin experience (although it did receive positive ratings for value for money).

Which? surveyed over 6,500 members on their experiences of flights, asking them to rate factors such as boarding, seat comfort, food and drink, cabin environment, customers service and value for money.

It’s the fourth consecutive year that Ryanair has been named the worst short-haul airline in the survey.

However, a surprise appearance in the bottom three was made by British Airways, which received low ratings by members on factors such as the food and drink, seat comfort and value for money.

In fact, the airline made the bottom three in both the short-haul and long-haul lists; a stark contrast to 2015 when it was named the best short-haul airline in the same survey.

Speaking of the best, it was Singapore Airlines which topped the long-haul list, with an overall customer score of 88 per cent, scoring four- and five-star ratings from holidaymakers across all of the categories,

In the short-haul category, it was Aurigny Air Services which impressed the most, boasting a score of 82 per cent, although it was closely followed by Jet2 with a score of 79 per cent.
