Daren Metropoulos-Owned Playboy Mansion Undergoing Renovations

LOS ANGELES, CA – According to a report on TMZ, Greek-American Daren Metropoulos, son of billionaire investor Dean Metropoulos, has begun the renovations on the Playboy Mansion which he purchased for $100 million from Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner who passed away in 2017.

TMZ reported that the famed mansion “is getting a serious facelift … and while other businesses across Los Angeles have come to a screeching halt, the crib’s construction crew rages on.”

Photos obtained by TMZ were taken on April 2 from “just outside one of the side entrances,” and show “the storied estate is fully enveloped in scaffolding… there’s also excavation equipment,” TMZ reported.

According to the TMZ report, “the photos are the first images we’ve seen since Hugh Hefner‘s death back in 2017.”

Following Metropoulos’ purchase of the mansion, he “then struck a deal with L.A. City officials to protect the main structure,” TMZ reported, adding that “the agreement locked in Daren’s previous commitment to ‘not demolish the main residence and repair the facade of the structure while maintaining its original condition as part of his extensive renovation.’”

Metropoulos, according to the deal, is allowed to “transform the mansion without landmark status, which would have imposed a slew of restrictions,” TMZ reported, noting that “it’s unclear exactly what all Daren has planned for the Mansion, but if these pics are any indication, we’re not gonna know for a while.”
