Italian ferry to link Cyprus with Greece

The Greece-Cyprus ferry link will be carried out this summer by Italian-flagged ferry AF Marina, replacing the Daleela ferry that operated in previous years.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Cyprus’ Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanolis, said departures will begin from the port of Limassol on May 29, while the last route, from Piraeus to Limassol, is scheduled for September 1.

In total, the ship will make 22 return routes, based on the contractual obligation of Scandro Holding.

The company has not increased its fares because fuel for the ship had already been secured before the recent price increase.

Reservations and purchase of tickets will be possible beginning next April 22. AF Marina, Hadjimanolis said, will offer upgraded services and amenities to passengers.

She referred to the greater number of cabins available, all having private toilets and bathrooms, adding that there will be increased passenger capacity, a provision for the transport of pets – which will be accommodated in cabins and not in special areas – thereby significantly improving their travel conditions.
