A fossilized tree trunk is seen in Kerasia, northern Evia, on Saturday, during preparations for a new natural history site.
Developed by the Museum of Natural History of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, the site features fossilized tree trunks from some 7 million years ago, uncovered during excavations that began in 2022. Opening July 8, it will have walking trails, viewing areas and interpretive displays. [Lesvos Petrified Forest Natural History Museum/AMNA]
