Greek Consulate of Sydney holds information session on postal voting registration

The Consulate General of Greece in Sydney has held an information session for how Greek citizens living in Australia can register for the Special Electoral Roll and exercise their voting rights through postal voting.

The session, held on Wednesday, September 30, drew about 40 presidents and representatives of Greek community organisations and lawyers licensed to practice in Greece.

Consul General George Skemperis outlined the electoral legislation that applies to Greeks residing abroad and explained in detail how eligible voters can register for the Special Electoral Roll.

As part of the session, two of the participants completed the registration process, demonstrating how the online system works.

The Consulate also highlighted assistance available to Greek citizens who may have difficulty completing the online registration process.

Those needing assistance can visit the Consulate General without an appointment, Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, where an authorised employee can assist with registration.

The Consulate thanked attendees and highlighted their role in keeping the Greek community informed about registration and voting arrangements.
