At least four Greek Australians will contest seats across Victoria for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation following the party’s state campaign launch in Melbourne on Saturday.
Stephen Spyros will contest Lara, Matthew Katselis will stand in Melton, Arthur Tsoutsoulis will run in Mill Park and Paul Pateras will contest Werribee.
One Nation launched its Victorian campaign at Crown’s conference centre, outlining a platform focused on crime, corruption and broader changes to the state government.
Spyros, a Victorian police officer and father of two, began his policing career as a Protective Services Officer in 2018 before becoming a sworn police officer in 2021. Born in Geelong and now living in Lara, his campaign focuses on community safety.
Katselis is a logistics professional and father campaigning on crime, congestion, planning and the rising cost of living in Melton.
Tsoutsoulis has more than 20 years of experience in traffic and transport engineering and civil project management. His priorities include government transparency, road infrastructure, community safety, local businesses and cost-of-living pressures.
Pateras is a Werribee-born small-business owner whose family has farmed in the area since the 1930s. Drawing on more than two decades in security contracting, he is campaigning on crime prevention, community safety and the financial pressures facing families and businesses.
Protesters gathered outside the campaign launch, prompting a significant police presence around the venue.
