On June 26, part of central Athens will be transformed into a race track to host a special route of the EKO Rally Acropolis.
Top cars from the World Rally Championship will launch from a ramp in front of the iconic Panathenaic Stadium, with the Acropolis as a backdrop and finish at Zappeion, following a specially designed 1,500-meter route.
In the days that follow, the rally will continue through the Peloponnese, Central Greece and Thessaly, routes designed to showcase the natural beauty of the country while boosting both local and national economies.
“The event is an integral part of Greece’s cultural and sporting history,” said Deputy Minister of Sports Giannis Vroutsis during a press conference, noting that in 2021 the rally contributed €20 million to the Greek economy, a figure that surpassed €45 million just four years later.
