Athens will host the EuroLeague Final Four in 2026, returning the basketball showpiece to the Greek capital for the first time in 19 years, organizers said on Wednesday.
The championship-deciding tournament of Europe’s top club competition will take place at the Telekom Center Athens, formerly known as OAKA, home of Panathinaikos. The title game is scheduled for May 24.
Athens secured hosting rights over Belgrade in a vote of EuroLeague shareholders, having been considered the frontrunner. The city last staged the Final Four in 2007, when Panathinaikos claimed their fourth EuroLeague crown.
This year’s edition was held in Abu Dhabi, the first time the Final Four took place outside Europe.
