Three in ten Greeks now feel more comfortable discussing their finances with AI than with a person, adopting the technology faster than most Europeans, according to a European Consumer Payment Report 2025 by Intrum.
The survey shows 34% of Greek respondents prefer sharing their financial situation with an AI bot rather than a human, while 38% say they would feel less judged discussing overdue debts with AI, which is 10 points higher than in 2024.
The report highlights growing familiarity and trust in AI tools among Greek consumers. This shift coincides with a marked improvement in timely debt repayment, rising from 45% in 2023 to 67% in 2025.
One in three Greeks also say they use tools like ChatGPT to help them understand financial terms, a rate close to the European average.
Concerns about data security have eased with 23% of respondents saying the impact of AI on personal data protection is not a worry. [AMNA]
