Prospective  US Ambassador to Athens Kimberly Guilfoyle is moving one step closer in the formal appointment process to assuming her post in the Greek capital.

According to reliable sources, Guilfoyle is scheduled to appear before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee next Wednesday, July 9, for the hearing required as part of the official procedure.

Should she receive approval from the Committee and subsequently from the full Senate, she is expected to arrive in Athens and assume her duties, possibly even before the beginning of September.
