The EU will recognise national Covid certificates from Turkey, Ukraine and North Macedonia from Friday, opening the way to easier travel for their residents, the European Commission said.
Ukraine and Russia have long had an uneasy relationship after Moscow annexed the Crimean peninsula in 2014. But, in recent weeks, violence between Russian-backed Crimean separatists and Ukrainian troops has broken out. Moscow has sent thousands of troops near the border.
There has been ongoing conflict between the two nations since Russia’s annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. Skirmishes have been taking place between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian separatists in Donbass.
