DISY is not tired of approving laws to serve the ban

AKEL satisfied with the adoption of the extension of the suspension of foreclosures for another three months

On behalf of AKEL, the Party’s press spokesperson, Giorgos Koukoumas, expressed satisfaction with the adoption of the measure for the extension of the suspension of foreclosures for another three months.

Speaking to ‘Astra’, he described the adoption of the extension of the law as absolutely necessary, given the existing legislative framework, which is in favour of the banks and against borrowers.

More specifically, he pointed out, that currently loan management companies are advertising property sell-off festivals.

At the same time, G.Koukoumas stressed that the extension of the suspension of foreclosures could not be a permanent solution, but at this stage it was the only appropriate solution to save people, families and small businesses threatened with evictions and destruction.

The AKEL C.C. Spokesperson added that it was clear from the result of yesterday’s vote that the ruling DISY party is not tired of passing laws to serve the interests of the banks, while it does not care about citizens.

On the other hand, G.Koukoumas said, we have DIKO and EDEK with their idea for the establishment of a special court concerning foreclosures. However, he explained, as long as the legislative framework is not changed to strike a balance, the result will be the acceleration of foreclosures to the detriment of the people.

Giorgos Koukoumas stressed that the leadership of DIKO MUST reconsider the attitude it had in previous years when it identified with DISY and passed a legislative framework that is to the detriment of borrowers.
