Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni addressed the Destination Weddings Tourism Forum Greece 2026 and emphasized that wedding tourism is a rapidly growing, and high value-added tourism worldwide, with significant prospects for further growth in Greece.
She also noted that it is associated with longer stays and higher spending, and it mobilizes a broad network of professionals and services, creating direct benefits for local communities.
Kefalogianni also said that promoting it serves the strategic goals of the Tourism Ministry for a higher-quality, more sustainable, and more balanced tourism, one that is not concentrated solely in a few months and a few destinations but is spread across more regions of Greece and over a longer period of the year.
