Greek Patriot battery downs missiles, drone over Saudi city

The Greek air defense battery stationed in Saudi Arabia has taken down two ballistic missiles and a drone near the city of Yanbu, Greece’s Ministry of Defense announced Saturday.

Using its Patriot missiles, the battery shot down two ballistic missiles at 7:15 a.m. local time (0515 GMT), aimed at a refinery in the area. The drone was shot down at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, the Ministry said in a later statement.

Both the missiles and the drone came from Yemen, whose border with Saudi Arabia is over 1,000 kilometers from Yanbu, a city on the Red Sea north of Jeddah.
