DELMAR, NY – After a one year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Troy, NY AHEPA Chapter 306, Schenectady, NY AHEPA Chapter 125, and Albany, NY AHEPA Chapter 140 jointly held their 2nd Annual The Eleftheria Capital Region AHEPA Golf Outing on August 11 at Normanside Country Club in Delmar.

Months of planning by the Golf Committee resulted in another successful event. The hot, humid weather could not dampen the enthusiasm of the 80 golfers who enjoyed competing for team awards and individual prizes in the closest to the pin, longest drive, and hole in one contests. The dinner banquet, which featured the raffle drawings of 60 donated prizes, was attended by 105 people who were treated to a delicious meal while enjoying the music of a Greek DJ.

The golf outing raised thousands of dollars for the Capital Region AHEPA Chapter scholarship funds and philanthropic programs, as well as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, this year’s designated charitable organization. The outing received broad support from the business community of the Capital Region with many sponsorships and donations. Next year’s third annual golf outing is scheduled for June 15, 2022.
