The Church of Greece has entered the age of artificial intelligence with LOGOS, its own AI tool developed by the Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Filadelfia, Iraklio and Halkidona in collaboration with the University of the Aegean.
LOGOS functions as a digital “library” that gathers information on questions of Christian faith and encodes them into clear, useful answers. Asked whether it could receive confession, the app replied that it could not, but offered guidance and prayers for preparation.
Metropolitan Gabriel, who conceived the project, said it does not replace priests but “acts as a guide bringing the believer to the next step, the Church.” He emphasized that the Church must engage the digital world, noting, “Technology should serve humanity, not the other way around.”
LOGOS seeks to help younger users safely access accurate information on the Orthodox faith, countering harmful or misleading online content.
