Cypriot heads of diplomatic missions begin their annual two – day meeting

The two – day Meeting of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions of the Republic of Cyprus abroad began on Wednesday in Nicosia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on a post on ‘X’, that Cypriot diplomats were briefed on the priorities and objectives of Cyprus’ foreign policy by President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, followed by a broad exchange of views.

They were also informed about all issues related to the upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU by the Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna.

It is noted that tomorrow’s meeting, will be addressed by French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, following an invitation of his Cypriot counterpart.

Meanwhile, Raouna wrote on her account on ‘X’ that she informed them about the progress of preparations for the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU 2026.

She added that they discussed among other issues, the six-month program and priorities and other organizational issues, cultural events abroad.

The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our diplomatic missions abroad is crucial for a successful Presidency, she concluded.
