Cyprus Energy Minister to participate in “Mediterranean Offshore Conference” in Egypt

The Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Yiorgos Papanastasiou is travelling to Egypt to attend, Sunday, the international conference on energy issues “Mediterranean Offshore Conference”, in Alexandria.

Papanastasiou will be one of the key speakers at the opening of the conference, together with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt Karim Badawi.

He will also participate in a ministerial round table discussion on “Fostering Alliances and Partnerships along the path towards monetizing the East Mediterranean gas”.

On the sidelines of the Conference the Minister will have a private meeting with his Egyptian counterpart and separate meetings with delegations of high-ranking executives of the Italian company ENI and the National Oil Company of Abu Dhabi (ADNOC).

On Monday, Papanastasiou will visit the natural gas processing facilities of the Rashpetco company in the city of Rashid, as well as the natural gas liquefaction terminal of the Egyptian LNG company in the city of Idku.

He will be briefed, along with conference participants, by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt.

Energy Minister returns home on Monday evening.
