Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is traveling to New York on Friday, to accompany President Nikos Christodoulides in his contacts during the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

A press release by the Foreign Ministry says that Kombos will participate in a series of multilateral meetings, including the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the European Union, the Informal Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the EU and CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States), as well as the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth.

He will also attend the dinner hosted by United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio with his counterparts.

Throughout the High Level Week, the Minister will hold a series of bilateral contacts with his counterparts, with the aim of strengthening Cyprus’ bilateral relations with countries from all geographical regions.

He will also brief his counterparts and other officials on the priorities of the Cyprus EU Presidency, the first half of 2026, on developments on the Cyprus issue, as well as other issues of multilateral and bilateral interest. Trilateral ministerial meetings will also be held with countries from the region.
