Vaccination portal opens on Wednesday for inoculation appointments for citizens over 69, the Health Ministry announced today.
A total of 17,496 appointments will made available at the vaccination centers in all districts of the island. The citizens are getting the shots of Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca which are already authorized by the European Medicines Agency. In the next days, as the Ministry says, the EMA will assess the application put forward by Johnson&Johnson.
According to the figures by the Ministry, until yesterday March 1st, a total of 82,564 took place island-wide. Last week two more vaccination centers started operating in Larnaka and Paphos. The centers will be able to inoculate up to 15,000 people daily.
The Ministry advises citizens to visit the centers on time and not earlier to avoid overcrowding.
The next available appointments according to age category will be announced in due time.
