Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis will visit Tripoli, Libya Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Sunday.
Gerapetritis will have successive meetings with the Chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, the Prime Minister of the recognized Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, the acting Foreign Minister, Al Taher Salem Al Baour, and the acting Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Khalifa Rajab Abdulsadek.
A month ago, Gerapetritis had visited eastern Libya to meet officials there to talk about maritime zones and migrant flows.
Libya is split between two competing centers of power, with the Parliament of Libya resident in the East. Turkey and the Tripoli government have signed a maritime zones demarcation memorandum between the two non-neighboring countries, an agreement considered illegal by Greece, the EU and the US, among others.
