French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, has docked in Athens’ southern Faliro Bay, after participating in joint training with the Greek Navy and Air Force in the Aegean.

The Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA), General Dimitris Houpis, is expected to visit it, along with the French Ambassador Laurence Auer and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras.

The aircraft carrier has 1,800 personnel, 22 Rafale fighter jets on its deck, maritime surveillance aircraft and helicopters.

Meanwhile, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu is expected in Athens on April 14 for extended talks with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.
