The declared strategic interest of the US to make Greece a gateway for the transport of American LNG from the Revithousa and Alexandroupoli terminals via the Vertical Gas Corridor to Eastern Europe will be confirmed by the contacts that US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum will have in Athens on November 6-7.

This will be the second time Burgum is visiting in his capacity as head of the Energy Sovereignty Council established by Donald Trump to signal the US energy policy shift, which links the production and management of energy not only with economic development, but also with national security and geopolitics.
