Greek among victims of jet crash in Turkey carrying Libyan army chief

A Greek woman is among the eight dead passengers of the private Dassault Falcon 50 jet carrying the Libyan army’s chief of staff, Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad, that crashed Tuesday shortly after take off in Turkey.

According to Turkish media, the Greek citizen was one of the plane’s crew members.

The Greek embassy in Ankara has not been informed that a Greek citizen was among the dead.

The Tripoli-bound aircraft had taken off from Ankara Esenboga Airport at 7.17 p.m. Greek time.

The private jet reported an electrical failure and requested an emergency landing shortly before crashing near Ankara, Turkey’s head of communications has said.
