Greek-owned startups abroad have secured funding almost $1.5 billion since the beginning of the year, with most investors directing their funds to artificial intelligence companies.
Nvidia, General Atlantic, Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital are just a few of those who have given their vote of confidence to foreign technology companies with Greek founders. One of the latest investments has been Rillet, which uses AI and machine learning to automate the content of accounting reports.
According to data from Greek investment fund Marathon Venture Capital, since the beginning of 2025, startups with Greek roots and a presence abroad have raised $1.49 billion from 18 international investors, having secured only $1.07 billion throughout 2024.
Priority goes to AI companies, which are now receiving the largest volume of capital worldwide. Among the enterprises that have raised the most capital, Dimitris Styliadis’ software firm Endor Labs stands out, which was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. The company raised $93 million from US venture capital DFJ Growth and other investors.
