Hellenic Media Group, an independent volunteer-based media network dedicated to promoting cultural and social initiatives, is proud to announce its official collaboration with the Hellenic Olympic Winners Association (HOWA).

This collaboration aims to provide journalistic and volunteer support to the Association, highlighting the efforts and initiatives of Greek Olympic medalists — individuals who embody values such as integrity, perseverance, and contribution to society.

The Hellenic Olympic Winners Association was founded in 1985, based on an initiative by Olympic wrestling medalist Dimitris Thanopoulos, and supported by distinguished post-war Olympic champions including Giorgos Roubanis, Petros Galaktopoulos, Giorgos Zaimis, Stelios Mygiakis, and Tasos Boudouris. Roubanis led the legal process for the official foundation of the Association and coordinated efforts for uniting Olympic medalists as active members. On March 21, 1985, the Athens Court of First Instance approved the Association’s statute, signed by 21 Olympic distinction holders as founding members.

Over the years, the Association has been led by prominent Olympic champions such as Petros Galaktopoulos, Tasos Boudouris, Niki Bakogianni, Panagiotis Fasoulas, Giorgos Sigalas, Dimosthenis Tampakos, Voula Kozompoli, Evi Moraitidou, and Voula Zygouri, all of whom continue to inspire and contribute actively to Greek society and sports.

Through this collaboration, Hellenic Media Group will support and promote the actions and vision of the Association both in Greece and internationally, respecting the Olympic spirit and the timeless values it represents.
