After a strong summer season, the Cycladic island of Kimolos expects tourist demand to carry well into the fall, according to Mayor Constantinos Ventouris.
“Businesses are open and the Feast of Saint Methodia on October 4 is likely to draw even more visitors,” he said in comments to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, referring to one of the island’s most important events, celebrating its patron saint.
Ventouris credited the island’s strong performance to the combination of sustained promotional efforts by the municipal authority and the enthusiastic response from travelers.
“We analyzed market trends in Greece and abroad and developed a modern, targeted strategy, which was systematically implemented to achieve the best outcomes,” he said.
This plan, endorsed by both the Tourism Committee and the Municipal Council, emphasizes the island’s experiential character, encouraging visitors to form a deeper connection with the destination.
Kimolos is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and beaches, particularly Prassa, famed for its white sands and turquoise waters.
