Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis reflected on the key milestones of 2025 in his message to citizens ahead of the New Year.

According to the prime minister, these milestones include tax reform, the renovation of hospitals and health centers, the country’s development as an energy hub, and the strengthening of its defense arsenal.

However, Mitsotakis noted that significant challenges remain ahead, including the restoration of the primary sector.

“2025 hands over a world in instability and in search of new balances, with unprecedented geopolitical changes and major economic uncertainties, while 2026 also dawns full of multiple challenges,” he said.

Mitsotakis also outlined the government’s priorities for 2026, stressing that consensus will be essential in the period ahead, particularly in view of the planned constitutional revision.

“Reaching consensus on the major changes that the country still needs becomes a paramount demand of the year that is dawning, especially during a period in which the process of an ambitious constitutional revision will begin,” Mitsotakis said.

“In order for it to be completed successfully, broader consensuses will be required,” he added.
