Banks will stop charging fees for cash withdrawals from ATMs starting Monday (August 11), based on a recent Finance Ministry initiative.
A cap of €1.50 will apply to withdrawals from ATMs operated by third-party providers.
Also, a unified fee of €0.50 is being introduced for money transfers sent via web, mobile, or internet banking through third-party providers.
Balance inquiries will be free for all cardholders, regardless of bank or ATM operator.
The regulation, passed on July 25, included a brief adjustment period to ensure swift implementation and immediate benefits for citizens, the ministry has noted.
