The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) topped Greek university rankings for 2026, according to the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. 

The quality-based ranking determines 30% of university funding. NTUA significantly increased its score, followed by the University of Athens and Athens University of Economics and Business, which jumped from fifth place.

“I would like to congratulate all members of our academic community,” NTUA Rector Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou said. The University of Crete climbed from seventh to fifth place.
