Students completing the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) have woken up to their results this morning after a year disrupted by COVID-19 and natural disasters. 

Oakleigh Grammar in Victoria has announced the School Dux for 2022 is Luke Mickelson with an ATAR of 97.75. His VCE Study Scores included above 40 in Physics, Further Mathematics, Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods. Luke is aspiring to undertake a Science / Engineering Degree at the University of Melbourne.

The Dux Proximus is Maria Andreou with an ATAR of 96.15. Her VCE Study Scores included above 40 in English, Legal Studies, Psychology and Greek. Maria is aspiring to undertake an Arts Degree at the University of Melbourne.

Oakleigh Grammar’s Class of 2022 had 13 percent of graduates receiving ATARs over 90, that place them in the top 10 percent of the country, 26 percent in the top 20 percent of the country and 52 percent of students in the top 30 percent of the country.

In a press release, the school principal congratulated students on their achievements.

“I am delighted to extend our congratulations to the graduation class of 2022 on their outstanding performance as indicated by their VCE Results,” the press release said.

“I commend them for living the 2022 School theme ‘Success is Ours to Achieve’. Despite the legacy of COVID-19, our students demonstrated resilience and a mindset to give of their best as evidenced by their commitment and efforts across all learning areas.

“We are exceedingly proud of each and every one of our 2022 graduates and we wish them well for whatever lies ahead in the next part of their life’s journey.”
