Oman pledges €1 mln for the restoration of Limassol’s Kepir Mosque

The restoration works at Kepir Mosque in Limassol, in the southern coast of Cyprus, are expected to begin within October, after the signing of a relevant contract on September 30, according to the Department of Public Works. Works will last 15 months and, as announced, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cyprus pledged €1,000,000 as a contribution for the restoration. The contract is valued at €1,088,755.23 plus tax.

The buildings within the Mosque’s complex are listed and the Mosque itself is an Ancient Monument, according to the law regarding antiquities. The Mosque is situated in the heart of the historical center of Limassol, between the streets Genethliou Mitella and Zig-Zag.
