Applications for residence permits from non-European Union nationals under Greece’s Golden Visa program are in a steep decline.
According to Migration Ministry data, the drop hit 68% on the year in December 2025, with only 362 applications submitted against 1,167 in December 2024. For the whole of 2025 there was a 25% drop, with 6,978 applications against 9,289 in 2024.
Unlike other EU countries that have scrapped their Golden Visa programs, Greece has retained it but increased the size of the required investment.
