Following Monday’s correction, the Athens Stock Exchange went back to its recent mode of mild gains Tuesday.
The ASE followed the generally positive mood in international markets, where investors continue to monitor developments in Ukraine and are looking forward to the annual Federal Reserve Conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, that starts Thursday.
The ATHEX general index closed at 2,095.94 points, up 0.17%. Turnover remained strong, at €227.14 million.
Blue chips gained 0.17% and mid-caps 0.35%. The banking sub-index gained 0.12%.
Top gainers among blue chips, with gains topping 2%, were HELLENiQ Energy and construction group Aktor. Piraeus Bank, metals group Viohalco, OTE Telecoms, Cenergy and Metlen all gained more than 1%.
