Work stoppage at Paphos airport in Cyprus
After yesterday’s work stoppage at Larnaca Airport, the baton was passed on to ground handling workers at Paphos Airport who today (02/11) went on a spontaneous work stoppage.

The recent assurances given by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Yannis Karousos, that after the integration of new companies in the sector, existing jobs have been secured, proved to be empty talk as LGS and Swissport delivered redundancy letters to 156 workers, 111 from LGS and 45 from Swissport at the two airports. This provoked a reaction from the trade unions and workers who declared a strike.
