For the past two decades, Costas Politis has made Tashkent his home, transforming what began as a short professional assignment into a lifelong commitment to culture, heritage and intercultural dialogue. A distinguished architect, restorer and museologist, he has dedicated his career to protecting historical monuments and preserving the cultural identity and collective memory of nations.
As Chairman of the Greek Cultural Center in Tashkent, Politis plays an important role in keeping Hellenism alive in Uzbekistan, strengthening the bonds between Greece and its diaspora. Through cultural initiatives, education and community engagement, he seeks to inspire younger generations to embrace their Greek roots while building bridges between different traditions.
Originally from Thessaloniki, he believes that living abroad offers a deeper appreciation of one’s homeland. His vision is to create lasting opportunities for cultural, educational and professional cooperation, ensuring that Greek heritage remains a living legacy for generations to come.
