Chapter HJ-04 Solon Conference with the participation of Dr. Athanasios Platias, Professor of Strategy at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, and Executive in Logistics on Top Management Level Mr. Dimitris Papasotiriou: ‘Geopolitical Storm in Logistics – The Domino Effect Reshaping the Global Trade Map: Opportunities & Risks for Greece’ – Award Ceremony for Former Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General K. Floros.
A high-level geostrategic interest event was held by Chapter HJ-04 Solon, on the theme ‘Geopolitical Storm in Logistics – The Domino Effect Reshaping the Global Trade Map: Opportunities & Risks for Greece’.
The conference, organized by the Education Committee of the AHEPA Solon HJ-04 Chapter, which has been under the direction of Dr. Ioannis Konstantopoulos, Assistant Professor, Department of International and European Studies for the last two years.
Under the management of the Chapter’s President Alexandros Dimas and Mr. Dimitris Papasotiriou Member of the AHEPA Chapter HJ-45 Saint Nicholas Maritime, Senior Executive on Top Management level in Logistics, highlighted significant issues regarding the position of Greece on the global trade map, in light of geopolitical developments plus the challenges of the risks on the main global trade routes.
The presentations of the two speakers, Dr. Athanasios Platias, Professor of Strategy at the University of Piraeus, and Dimitris Papasotiriou, were extremely enlightening, offering valuable insights and food for thought. The participants had the opportunity to delve into the complex geopolitical challenges affecting logistics and global trade, as well as to examine the opportunities and risks facing Greece in the fluid environment.
A significant moment of the event was the presence and awarding of ret. General Konstantinos Floros former Chief of the Hellenic Armed Forces by the Supreme President of AHEPA Europe Mr. Kostas Varsamis and the President of the AHEPA Chapter HJ-04 Solon Alexandros Dimas . General honoured the chapter receiving the Award for his proven successful strategic stance and crisis management, particularly during the events in Evros. General Floros’s speech was deeply meaningful and inspiring, with powerful messages.
Chapter HJ-04 Solon once again demonstrated its role as a pillar of national consciousness, social responsibility, cultural contribution, and Philanthropy.
The President of the Chapter, Alexandros Dimas, expressed his warm thanks to the speakers, emphasizing the professional, academic, and in-depth analysis they offered, contributing decisively to the great success of the conference, which achieved 100% participation.
At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to the Athens Callirhoe Hotel for the excellent hospitality, as well as to the Board of Directors of Chapter HJ-04, and especially to the Vice President Sotiris Stasinopoulos for the flawless coordination of the event. He also thanked Michalis Galiatsatos Board Member of the Chapter and Director of Cargo360 for his significant contribution with insightful questions as an industry professional, and Past President Christos Faslis for the important messages he conveyed at the closing of the event, regarding the significance of AHEPA in modern Hellenism.
Furthermore, President Alexandros Dimas thanked the Supreme Governor of Europe, Kostas Varsamis, for the honor of presenting the Chapter’s award to the former Chief of HNDGS, General K. Floros.
He specially welcomed the presence of the President of Chapter HJ-10 Pericles, Christos Katiforis, and the Vice President of AHEPA HELLAS, Argyris Tsounakis, with a big thank you for their support.
