The tax administration will now be able to monitor the cash register of each business in almost real time, as during the course of this year it will put into operation its upgraded e-send information system, which will automatically receive the details of each receipt immediately after its issuance.
The new system will allow for the immediate monitoring of retail transactions, will activate automatic notifications when suspicious interruptions in the issuance of receipts are detected and will strengthen tax audits through the interconnection of cash registers with POS.
With the operation of the new platform, all tax cash register systems of businesses, cash registers and other tax electronic mechanisms will be directly connected to the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) and will send the data of each transaction in almost real time.
At the same time, it will ensure that each transaction carried out via POS will be recorded in the cash register and the data will be automatically transmitted to the tax administration.
Today, the existing e-send system receives receipt data every hour or even every three hours, resulting in a significant time lag in monitoring the commercial activity of hundreds of thousands of businesses and freelancers.
With the new digital infrastructure, AADE will collect receipt data within a short of time of their issuance, obtaining an almost immediate picture of the flow of retail transactions.
This change is part of the broader digital transformation of the tax administration. Today, AADE receives millions of entries from cash registers every day, however, the enormous volume of information makes it difficult to directly utilize it for audit purposes.
With the new e-send, the emphasis is shifted from simple data collection to automatic processing and the immediate identification of cases that show signs of high tax delinquency, allowing for the detection of unusual changes in revenue.
