Mitsotakis emphasizes need for solution in Gaza

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted the need for a solution in Gaza during his remarks at the 10th Trilateral Greece–Egypt–Cyprus Summit held in Cairo on Wednesday.

“We will discuss what is happening in Gaza, and we must strive for a ceasefire and the release of hostages to pave the way for renewed momentum toward a two-state solution,” Mitsotakis stated.

He further stressed the importance of cooperation with other countries in the region that share a similar outlook to address the issue.

“The positive aspect is that we engage in open dialogue, exchanging views and recognizing the necessity of collaboration with other regional players who align with us and support the vision of a stable Middle East, one that does not export its challenges to neighboring regions,” he added.

The prime minister also highlighted the growing economic ties between Egypt and Greece.

“I want to underline the significance of the business forum taking place, which reflects the renewed interest of Greek enterprises in strengthening economic relations with Egypt,” he remarked during another part of his speech.

Earlier, the Greek prime minister held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
