Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis hosted European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jorgensen at his office on Thursday.

They discussed priorities related to Jorgensen’s portfolio and issues of Greek interest, especially the reduction of energy price lists for households and businesses, as well as the importance of connectivity projects of common European interest for the Union’s energy security.

The PM and the commissioner also discussed housing policies and incentives implemented by the government that are aligned with the commissioner’s priorities for affordable housing: “That was not an issue in Greece a few years ago. It has become a problem as a result of economic development, which has added pressure to the real estate market. We have assumed many initiatives related to affordable housing,” Mitsotakis told Jorgensen.
