New hotels aim to boost accommodation options at Brussels Airport

By Martin Banks

Two new hotels have opened close to Brussels airport, helping meet increased demand from the travelling public.

A relative lack of accommodation at, or close to, the national airport has sometimes been a cause of complaint from international air passengers.

However, the twin openings hope to go some way to addressing such concerns.

The two brand-new hotels are: Holiday Inn Express Brussels-Airport and Adagio Access Brussels Airport.

Last year, owners the Borealis Hotel Group announced the acquisition of various hotel projects in Belgium and the company has now completed two of these projects, the new hotels which stand side by side.

The project has been completed in conjunction Candor, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Adagio.

On 16 September, Borealis formerly opened the doors to the Holiday Inn Express which, company spokesman said, has been designed according to latest lay-out (larger rooms) and fittings.

The hotel has 208 rooms (60 connecting rooms), 1 meeting room, a large Express “Start Breakfast” area where 180 people can have breakfast at the same time (so also suitable for larger groups), an Express café, a crew lounge, 100 underground parking spots (including e-charging stations) and an outdoor terrace.

The Adagio Access Brussels Airport boasts 160 modern studios each with a fully equipped kitchen, a fitness and communal areas designed for working and relaxing. There is an underground parking available and it also offers “The Circle” concept which encourages interaction between guests and between guests and hotel staff.

This entails “The Shop” with 24/7 supplies, “The Object Library”, which includes decorative objects, kitchen utensils, books and games to borrow and “The shared Kitchen”, which is a fully equipped communal kitchen.

Both hotels are close to the Brussels Airport and easily accessible by car via the E19 and E40. Buses and trains are also available to transport passengers to the centre of Brussels or to the airport.
