Andrew Hambis Michael Mitchell PhD., filmmaker and academic, has been awarded a BAFTA for his contribution as cinematographer for a Sky Kids and Aardman Animations television series, The Very Small Creatures (Series 3).
Andrew received the BAFTA at the Television Craft Awards, which recognises outstanding achievements in the craft of television production. Together with his six colleagues, who were all individually recognised in the Children’s Craft Team category, Lucy Izzard (right of centre), Fernando Lechuga (right), Owen Peters (left), Jean-Marc Petsas (left of centre), and Bronwen Salter (not pictured), and Andrew (centre), received the award at the BAFTA Craft awards ceremony in April.
Presently, Andrew is working on a highly technical, special effects heavy Hollywood feature being filmed in London.
Andrew’s paternal grandparents are from Choirokoitia and Ora and his maternal grandparents are both from Komi Kebir.
